In English:From May 15 to 31, 2025, a citizen science count of Eurasian scops owls (Otus scops) is taking place in Central Asian countries. If you’ve heard the call of this small owl in the evening or at night, visit
scopsowl.org to mark the location and time of your observation. It only takes a couple of minutes, but it will help scientists better understand where scops owls live and how to protect them. The count is taking place in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
In Kazakhstan, the count is organized by ACBK (Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan).
